Finishing. I hate it. However, Tithe is almost complete. One half is sewn up and you know I tried her on. A little on the short side, but I have enough left over to pick up around the bottom and add a few rows.
I used Soak before assembling (Aquae... mmmm), and the plan was to block the pieces. Wow - I hate blocking! Maybe if I had a good surface (maybe a blocking board), had a bit more patience and better pins, and maybe if I wasn't in the midst of PMS... but none of those conditions being met, I said "fuck it" to blocking and threw the pieces in the dryer. Yeah, you heard me. On low with a Downy drier sheet. The result was: not much shrinkage (really!) and s-o-f-t!
I think I might be able to wear this puppy to work on Wednesday! :)
I actually finished this a while ago... my camera cozy! The Sulka felted up nicely after just one washing. It's a bit long (kinda forgot that felting doesn't actually do much to the length) but it's OK. I went to Button Button and got this cute button to fill in some of that extra space.
I'm coming into the homestretch of my very first cardigan (Tithe from the Noro Unlimited book). I'm usually not a garment knitter... but I really need some sweaters though. Anyhoo, I'm almost done the first sleeve so my hope is this week it'll be done. However, my startitis did get the best of me last night and I cast on a Fleece Artist kit (Goldielocks shawl for my MIL). Gotta get those Christmas presents happenin', you know!
